Though India became a free nation on August 15, 1947, it declared itself a Sovereign, Democratic and Republic state with the adoption of the Constitution on January 26, 1950.
A salute of 21 guns and the unfurling of the Indian National Flag by Dr. Rajendra Prasad heralded the historic birth of the Indian Republic on that day. Thereafter 26th of January was decreed a national holiday and was recognised as the Republic Day of India.
The Constitution gave the citizens of India the power to choose their own government and paved the way for democracy. Dr. Rajendra Prasad took oath as the first President of India at the Durbar Hall in Government House and this was followed by the Presidential drive along a five-mile route to the Irwin Stadium, where he unfurled the National Flag.
India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world with a kaleidoscopic variety and rich cultural heritage. It has achieved all-round socio-economic progress since Independence. As the 7th largest country in the world, India stands apart from the rest of Asia, marked off as it is by mountains and the sea, which give the country a distinct geographical entity. Bounded by the Great Himalayas in the north, it stretches southwards and at the Tropic of Cancer, tapers off into the Indian Ocean between the Bay of Bengal on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west.
Lying entirely in the northern hemisphere, the mainland extends between latitudes 8° 4′ and 37° 6′ north, longitudes 68° 7′ and 97° 25′ east and measures about 3,214 km from north to south between the extreme latitudes and about 2,933 km from east to west between the extreme longitudes. It has a land frontier of about 15,200 km. The total length of the coastline of the mainland, Lakshadweep Islands and Andaman & Nicobar Islands is 7,516.6 km.

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen, first of all, I wish you very Happy Republic Day. It is an important day for all the Indians. Today when a few fellow Indians talk about the fear of losing basic rights that the constitution has given us, this day becomes more important. Since childhood, we are celebrating the republic day as a national festival but we understand the importance of this day when we grow up.
Republic day is celebrated on 26th January. On this day in 1950, the constitution of India came into effect. Our constitution gives us a few rights and a few responsibilities too. We are a democratic country. In society, we have different caste, religion or many other things that separate us but on a broader picture, we all are Indians. The beauty of our country is we have a different language and we also have conflicts and differences but on national festivals, we all stand as a united force.
Since childhood, 26th January has been a memorable day for all of us. Many of us may recall this day as a festival and celebrating it in schools by participating in culture programs or other activities. For a few of us, this is the day we get up to watch the republic day parade. The military parade starts Vijay Chowk and culminates at the Red Fort. The weapons and the equipment that the army shows in the parade reflect the power of our arm forces.
On this day the award and medals of bravery are also given to the armed forces and to the civilians too. The main attraction for the bravery awards is the young kids who showed ultimate bravery besides being young and saved the lives of other people. When the helicopters of the arms forces fly past the parade area and shower the rose petals on the audience everyone feels special. The program ends with the national anthem. Whether you are at home or watching the parade personally you get up to give respect to the national anthem. Its a day that makes us think beyond the caste, religion, state, language and color and we all feel the same emotion of loving our country.
Republic Day Speech for kids
Respected Principal, Teachers, and all my dear friends today I am standing in front of you to deliver a speech on Republic Day. But before doing that I would like to wish all of you who are present here a Happy Republic Day. I am so enthralled when my class teacher told me a few days back that you have been selected to deliver a speech on the 26th of January. I am excited but a bit nervous also because I never gave a speech earlier in my school life.
As you all know today we gathered here to celebrate the auspicious day of Republic day which we also knew as “Gantantra Divas” and as we all know that on this day in 1950 our full constitution came into effect but it was adopted on 26th of November 1949 under the chairmanship of our beloved Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar and we all know him as a father of Indian Constitution, he is one of the greatest leaders of modern India at that time.
It’s a Gazetted holiday but all school remains open to organize such a function in their school just as we are doing. Students perform several cultural activities and sing a patriotic song to remember our freedom fighters
As our principal sir hoist, the national flag similarly, the president of India hoists the flag at Rajpath and every year they invited special chief guests from a different country.
On the eve of republic day, our president gave a speech in the name of Nation
The president of India gave some important award like Ashoka Chakra and Kirti Chakra to the soldiers of India and bravery award to the citizen of India
In every school, colleges, and in government offices we celebrate this day full of zeal and enthusiasm
But truly it was organized at Rajpath in New Delhi. Where thousands of people gathered to watch the RDC parade. The main attraction of the parade was a tableau of the selected state which showed us their tradition and you know they start their preparation six months earlier.
But when our soldiers came with their battalion and all of their arms and ammunition it was such a goosebumps moment for every Indian
And at last, when our air force fighter pilots came with their jets and create our national flag tricolor in the sky it was such a proud moment for every Indian.
It’s the day when you can hear patriotic songs every nook and corner of our street and everyone celebrates this day with brotherhood and they all distributing sweets.
When our constitution came into effect we have some common issues and still today we are also facing some common issues like cleanliness, education, unemployment, and many others but to resolve them government also launching some schemes like swatch Bharat Abhiyan, beti padhao beti Bachao, skill India, make in India and many more but we cannot depend fully on the shoulders of our government we need to do something for our country and we all must take a step to make a better and stronger Nation
We must keep the ideas which were mention in the constitution of India which are Justice to everyone, Equality, Liberty, Fraternity, and sovereignty we should not forget the ideas of our Gandhi Bapu and we need to implement their ideas in our life so that we make our nation strong.
So let’s take a pledge that we all will maintain peace and harmony and must remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters so that we can value the freedom which we got just because of their sacrifices. Before I conclude my speech I would like to say “patriotism is just like charity it must begins at home”

22 nd DECEMBER 2019:NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY
National Mathematics Day in India is celebrated on December 22. It commemorates the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan, an Indian mathematician who made significant contributions to several fields of mathematics.
Srinivasa Ramanujan was born on December 22, 1887 in Erode. He first encountered formal mathematics at the age of 10. While at school he received many academic awards and merit certificates. Ramanujan was an autodidact; he had almost no formal training in pure mathematics and initially developed his own research in isolation.
In 1913, Ramanujan contacted European mathematicians. He began to correspond with G. H. Hardy and eventually moved to England in 1914. He spent nearly five years at Cambridge, published a number of papers and was elected to several mathematical societies. Ramanujan contributed to continued fractions, infinite series, number theory, and mathematical analysis.
In 2012, Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh declared the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan as National Mathematics Day. The year 2012 was celebrated as the National Mathematics Year. National Mathematics Day is celebrated with numerous educational events held at Indian schools and universities.
Although Ramanujan received no formal education, by the age of 12, he had mastered trigonometry and developed many theorems on his own with no assistance. He was awarded a scholarship to study at Government Arts College, Kumbakonam, but he eventually lost it due to his abysmal performance in other subjects. He ran away from home and enrolled himself at Pachaiyappa’s College in Madras. Ramanujan devoted himself solely to mathematics but fared poorly in other subjects.
There were hard times in the genius’ life as he had no way of supporting himself. Mathematician Ramaswamy Iyer helped him get a position of a clerk at the Madras Port Trust.
His breakthrough finally came in 1913, when Ramanujan wrote to G H Hardy. The British mathematician, on realising Ramanujan’s genius wrote back to him, calling him to London. Hardy then got Ramanujan into Trinity College, Cambridge and what began was a captivating saga of success. In 1917, Ramanujan was elected to be a member of the London Mathematical Society. In 1918 he also became a Fellow of the Royal Society, becoming the youngest person to achieve the feat.
Ramanujan, however, had difficulty acclimatising in London. The English diet did not suit this orthodox Brahmin eatring habits. He was even hospitalised due to ill health in 1917. He returned to India in 1919 but his health deteriorated. He passed away on April 6, 1920.

Every year 15 January is observed as Indian Army Day because on this day in 1949 field Marshal Kodandera M Cariappa took over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief.
Definition of the Army Day
Army Day is a day by which people are used to celebrating army day with proper encouragement to their Youth and children’s. Army Day is used to observe for those people who gave their all their life to save crores of people of the country.
Army Day is used to mark on the 15ht January on which people used to salute the Army for saving their Life in critical conditions. Army Day is used to develop the art of encouragement in the people to fight for the country in dangerous times.
It is used to cultivate the people to build a great future by gathering much information from the Army. Army Day is used to generate a proper knowledge about how the Army provides his/her full life for the betterment and safety of the people.

Army Day is celebrated on the 15th January for the respect of the Lieutenant General of India. Kodendara Madappa Carriappa who was the First Army’s Commander-in-Chief. Army Day is celebrated all over India every year at National Capital and the Army Command Headquarters in which many parades and Military Shows are organized. General Kodendara Madappa Carriappa became the First Commander-in-Chief of Independent India.
Indian Army is used to face many difficulties and problems, and they courageously solve every problem and maintains and saves the life of the people to live in a better way by the people. Indian Army is used to save a lot of Indian people who want to develop the art to make the people able to survive with the proper completion of their task. Indian Army provides a lot of safety and maintains peace and harmony between the Nations. The Army is used to behave in that manner by which every people should live in better order in the country.

Field Marshal in the Indian Army
Field Marshal is the highest attainable rank in the Indian Army. Only two appointments have been made so far in the history of Indian Army. It is good to remember these two names (refer the table above). Field Marshals hold their rank for life, there is no retirement and they are considered as serving officers till their death.
